Top 4 Secret Spots on Coventry University Campus
Coventry University is highly known for it’s high student satisfaction. In 2016 it has been rated as top University for student satisfaction by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. Big part of University life and how students are satisfied with it depends on the comfort of the campus, as that is the place were You spend most of Your time as a student. These are my top 4 places on campus for Your free time or even studying!
The Hub at Coventry University
This building is formed for students and mainly their non-academic time, many call it the heart of the campus.
Ground floor of the Hub has Costa, for Your hard mornings after an all-nighter, Cost Cutter, when You run out of milk and You’ve already used all of your housemates’ milk, and even a tiny hair salon, when You are about to go on a date and really need those split ends gone immediately!
The centre is on campus, it has a gym, basketball and tennis courts, football hall. You can even book the courts or halls for You and Your friends only, which allows You to skip the awkwardness of the bonding time with Your new housemates, as You can just play the game and talk about it. There also are many different classes there, with my favorite – kick-box. Sports is one of the best ways to release all the stress, so this is a necessity during University!
This is a place between the Cathedral and the Alan Berry building. This is the place, where all the cultures and different lifestyles mash together and You can just watch it, while sitting on the steps, enjoying Your lunch. Occasionally, there are skaters around the area doing all the tricks, however all the signs around say that skating in there is forbidden. So this is a great place to watch them be rebellious!
Let’s not forget, that we are in UK, and pubs are an inseparable part of the University experience. A pint of beer and a burger or chicken wings is what most people go for in pubs. This is a place where You go either after a long study day in the library or before heading off to the party. The most popular pub on Coventry University campus is “The Phoenix”, where on Friday evening You may not find a place to sit, so make sure to have a friend saving You a seat, or get there earlier Yourself!
I recommend visiting all these locations within Your first month, as when You first come here, there is going to be hundreds of people who are just as new as You, so starting to randomly talk to a stranger is going to be easier at the beginning, than later. These are just some of my favourite spots on Coventry University campus, and I think You will enjoy them too!
