You’re probably in the middle of debating what to study at University, where to go and being told that one University is better than another. League tables don’t give you the full story and the real University advice truly comes from the students that study there.
Why I chose Coventry
Coventry is a charming modern city located in the middle of the UK, only 1 hour from London, with a little piece of history. The famous World War 2 bombings that destroyed most of the old cathedral, paved the way for another to be built that restored the Phoenix of Coventry. The old Cathedral ruins are now used for the annual Summer Ball that some 3,000 students of Coventry attend with big acts such as Tinie Tempah. The newly built Cathedral filled with beautiful stained glassed windows is where each student celebrates their graduation upon completion of their degree, filled with family, friends and lecturers.

Coventry is now ranked 12th in the Country for best student experience and 4th best student city to live in with its multi-culture shops, events and students. 45% of students at Coventry are international students and bring their culture to life whilst studying here. From One World week to Black History Month and Chinese New Year, students are proud of their heritage and regularly put on events to share their traditions. With over 150 student societies to join, academic trips to destinations around the world and the option for any course to take a study abroad or placement year free of charge, Coventry truly cherishes its students.
Travel the world!
New York, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Perth and Alberta are just a sample of the locations in which students can travel to whilst studying, with funding support for every student from the Centre of Global Engagement. Fancy creating your own society? No problem! Coventry allows you to bring your friends together and make a difference on campus, not to mention employability and placement support in every faculty from industry experts.
Coventry is rapidly growing, with new student accommodation built every year to provide the best for all students. The city itself is fully equipped with a wide range of restaurants, strong transport links and the biggest IKEA in Europe with most student accommodation only being a 10-15 minute walk away from the city centre and University buildings. Coventry is a city campus based University, meaning that University buildings are placed within the city, allowing for easy movement from lectures to lunch.

Coventry has helped me to come out of my shell and experience things I never knew were possible whilst making life-long friends and having the opportunity to shape the future of the University.
