About
Self-described as ‘Scotland’s first university’, St Andrews is the third oldest in the English-speaking world. It is a small campus university in a remote, ancient town on the East coast of Scotland, an hours drive outside of the Edinburgh. The sister-university to Edinburgh (the other ancient, prestigious Scottish university) and ‘younger sister’ to the Oxbridge universities has hosted plenty of royalty, perhaps most notably Prince William and his Kate. The social scene at St Andrews is characterised by student-organised events like its famous fashion shows, black tie balls and the annual Beerfest. Although somewhat remote, there is surely no shortage of entertainment for students.
